Palestinians in Bethlehem discuss the future and the past

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN

My latest article at The Jerusalem Post looks at Bethlehem, Dheisheh refugee camp, the future, the past; daily raids by the Israeli army, the pragmatism and views of residents, as well as a visit to Aida camp and the mourning area for the family of Abd abu-Srur the young man who bombed bus 12 in Jerusalem on April 18.

Residents in Dheisheh camp looked back at the past when the camp was next to the road used by Israelis to drive to the Gush, which was  changed in 1996 when the tunnel road was built.  They discussed their children’s future and why they don’t see a Palestinian state likely emerging soon.
