Since the US administration of Donald Trump began leaking rumors that it would move the US embassy to Jerusalem or recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel, controversy has slowly percolated to the surface in the Middle East and elsewhere. It began to come to a head on December 3rd to 5th as Jordan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and others began to try to head off a US declaration. What follows is a list of groups, leaders and states that have opposed the move and some of the threats they have made. It is no particular order:
The avalanche of condemnations began on December 5th in the afternoon after Palestinian media revealed that Trump had told Palestinian Authority President Mahmud Abbas it was his intention to move the embassy. He also spoke with King Abdullah of Jordan and Netanyahu.
